Japanese workers
When listening to the
word of “Japan” can’t be separated from history of Indonesian independence. Of
course not, because Indonesia was colonized for 3.5 years and it’s not a short
time. But this blog is not to discuss about history ya.. I just want to review
a little about Japan history in Indonesia.
Who is not familiar
with this Asian Tigers in the field of technology and economics? Yes, that is
Japan country. In this time I will tell you about the Japanese work customs which
is being one of reason why Japan can prosper until nowadays. Alright, let’s go
on to the first point.
1.
Hard
worker
This
is no longer a secret that Japanese is a hard worker. According to the data I
have got that employees in Japan can buy a car just within 9 days, wah let’s
compare with employees in Indonesia. One employee in Japan can be said able in
doing work which is usually done by 5 or 6 people. Go home early is a little
bit embrassing to them and indirectly indicates that the employee is not
needed. Professor in the college usually go home late at night (exactly in the
morning), so that students reluctant to go home early. Most of literature said
that beside their smart brain, hard working is one of achievement to make Japan
prosperous.
2.
Loyalty
Loyalty
makes the career system in a company run and organized neatly. Slightly
different from systems in America and Europe. The Japanese is rarely to move
their occupations. They usually hold on in one or two company until retirement
and this is not really me ^^ . This maybe because of the requirement of most
Japan’s companies are only willing to accept fresh graduate which is trained
and taught by the company based on the core business of a company. Meanwhile in
Indonesia most of companies looking for employee who already has experience so
that the company doesn’t need to teach the employee anymore. Strong commitement
and system of company makes their company be develop.
3.
Samurai
Principle
The principle of samurai is the principle of
never give up. This samurai principle is always there in the hearts of Japanese
citizen but not for a war rather it is to build the economy, maintain
self-esteem and honor of the nation. As an example is the technological
sophistication that they continuously create without giving up.
4.
Kaizen
Principle (on time)
For Japanese citizen, optimal costs and time
will produce high quality products. This thing encourages Japanese citizen to
be highly committed to work. Finishing a
job on time will reduce the occurrence of waste and loss. That’s why
company in Japan applies “on time” regulations for their employee.

Discipline
A
positive mindset makes Japanese society be disciplined in working. They assume
that if the company’s production increases and gets a big profit then they will
also get a great profit.
